About Lois

Welcome to my website!
Hello, I am Lois Marly Libregts, born in the Netherlands (DOB 10-10-2004). Since I was a little girl I enjoyed to watch speedskating and figure skating on Dutch Television.
At the age of 6, I really wanted to learn how to figure skate. Once I had my C- diploma for swimming (May 2011), my mother kept her promise and she took me to the city of 's-Hertogenbosch to skate with the
'Bossche Kunstrij Vereniging' , also called BKV.
Here I learned how to skate and become a real competition skater. We skated national and International competitions ISU). Already soon I was skating every day and I was asked to be a member of the VTO of the KNSB. A young talent program of the Dutch federation.

In April 2018, in my 2nd Advance Novice year, I started to skate in Belgium with Olympic coaches Carine Herrygers and Jorik Hendrickx. Almost every day we drove to Belgium to train.
In 2019-2020 and 2021 I was member of the SKN Team.

Because of the worldwide situation concerning Covid in 2020, we had no ice from the middle of March till the middle of June. As soon as the rinks went open again, we were allowed to train in Belgium for 3,5 months. Since the end of August 2020 we were allowed to train in the Netherlands again. For more than one year we were not allowed to compete.
I decided to leave SKN and to join the fulltime Dutch 'NTK' program of the KNSB (federation) in Heerenveen, starting in 2022. I was 17 years at that time.
I left home and moved to the North of the Netherlands. In Heerenveen I explored speed skating, that I liked to do on my figureskates before or after the training.

The 'NTK' only existed 5 months. In 2023 we went with the KNSB to Canada where we trained with Canadian coach Ian Connolly.
I choosed to keep training with Ian and also with Dutch Thomas Kennes, my former team mate. My choreographer Jenny, is also from Canada. I also decided to stay in Heerenveen all by myself. The season 2023-2024 was a good season, I became 4th at the Dutch National Championships, held during the International Challenge Cup.

This season, 2024-2025, I am going to start a new adventure. It will be my first year as a Senior figureskater and I also started speed skating, with Team Rebel.

I hope you will follow me on my road! I will keep you updated about my new adventures!
